Yes, but not Really
Well, it had to happen one day. Even though Granny and I have threatened him within an inch of his life that girls are forbidden, Aidan has put the moves on Daria. Why won’t he only love Mommy and Granny, like we have demanded? What does this Daria have that I don’t?
I was all set to admonish him for this complete, utter, and even written defiance of the Mommy is the only girl you need rule, when he looked at the note all exasperated and shook his head.
“What’s wrong, Aid?” I said. “Well, I overheard her say to Miss Megan that she really didn’t like me, but she didn’t want to hurt my feelings.”
WHAT??? You got the nerve to lead my baby on? You don’t like MY baby?? What in the Sam Hill tarnation kinda mess is THAT? As far as 7 year olds go, Aidan is what’s HOT. Humph.
So, I asked “Were your feelings hurt when she said that?” “Nah, Mama, it takes a lot to hurt my feelings. If she doesn’t like me, then that’s okay.”
Well, that’s very grown up of him. But the next time I see Daria? Mmm hm.
