He marched with Martin Luther King. He stood and fought for freedom, and this was his moment, too. But he’s old. And you know that when you ask old people to do something, they do it exactly how they want to do it.
In typical old man fashion, he said what the heck he wanted to say, and you can’t even be mad. When yellow can be mellow, and red can get ahead. Brown can stick around, and black ain’t got to get back. Then he took us back with the triple Amen.
And that, my friends, is how you set off the benediction.
