I walked into the Courthouse with my client, Tonya. She was getting something divorce related, but I can’t remember what. Anyway, she was kinda sorta a friend of mine. Walked right past these two guys in a military uniform and went into the courtroom. One of the guys was looking at me. I wondered why, thought maybe I’d seen him somewhere.
Judge took a break so we step outside the courtroom and Tonya sits on this bench. By this time, the military staring gentleman was sitting there, too, but the other one was gone. We (me & Tonya) engage in some conversation or the other, and since military stalker man was sitting there all up in our grill, I figured I’d say something to him. The usual, “Do I know you from somewhere?” He says “Nope, I don’t think I know you.” I reply, a simple “Oh, okay.” And Tonya and I go on talking about something else.
Being the businesswoman that I was, I had just purchased some new business cards. Tonya went to get them from the car for me cause I needed one (for some other purpose).
Military man still sitting there….
Me: Well, take my card, maybe you’ll need it one day.
Him: Really, really, ma’am!?
Me: Yeah, but don’t be calling me unless you need something. I ain’t got time.
Him: *looking all starry eyed, smiling* Okay. So, your name is Psonya?
Me: Yep, and you?
Him: Tim.
Me: Well, bye Tim! Nice to meet you.
January 8, 2009. Five years later. He’s still checking for me.
